Volunteer abroad in AIDS projects in India

Volunteers here are welcome for a minimum of 8 weeks.
ASRO is a Community Care and Support Centre (CCSC), for People living with HIV/AIDS. As a transitional Shelter for AIDS patients, ASRO acts as a bridge between health care institutions and patients’ families to create awareness in the community.
Volunteers (limited placements, for longer term volunteers only) are very welcome at the institution to help care for the patients who have often been left out of the social circle due to their condition. Volunteers can help in:
- Everyday care for the patients and assisting nurses in the centre
- General care and school work for the resident children
- Maintenance of patient facilities
- Improving the look and feel of the centre through decorations
- Community visits to build awareness about HIV/AIDS
