VTPEVV1
Volunteers with an advanced level of Spanish are welcome for a minimum of 1 week.
In splendid surroundings with a wonderful climate, the project is located in the small village of Cai Cay, about 1 hour's drive from Cusco. The project is designed to give the children some perspective on their future and receives about 70 children from the surrounding villages in the afternoons, after they attend school in the morning. Teenage pregnancies and domestic violence are a problem in this region.
The project aims to emphasize the value of education to the parents, in order to allow the children to attend it, instead of working in the fields. The project has its own organic garden and is managed by a former agricultural engineer.
Volunteers are needed to lead workshops and activities, as well as sport activities and film nights for the children. There is also construction going on in order to expand the facilities of the project. At the moment there are only two small spaces to do the activites. Volunteers are also needed to help build the additional buildings.
The project depends on foreign volunteers, who stay in the village during the week and can go to Cusco during the weekends.
