BrazilSouth America's largest country and the fifth largest country in the world, Brazil offers something for everyone. It is a country of great diversity with the wilderness of the Amazon rainforest, the hustle and bustle of the huge metropolitan cities such as São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, enchanting colonial towns, powdery white-sand beaches along the long coastline and famous landmarks such as the Iguaçu Falls.

BrazilBrazil was inhabited solely by indigenous people until 1500 when it was claimed by Portugal. Brazil gained independence in 1825 and nowadays its enormous population is of diverse origins Braziland is one of the world's most racially mixed societies. This unique Brazilian identity is however one of the things that charms the visitor over and over again.

Brazil is the largest national economy in Latin America with abundant natural resources, developed agricultural sector, service sector and many more and has several important export products. Parts of Brazil are very poor and unequal and illiteracy is high, especially among the rural population. Brazil has a relatively high level of urbanization, with almost 80% of BrazilBrazilians living in cities, where some of the world's largest slums are. On the other hand, it is one of the fastest growing economies in the world, and is on the way to development.
