Volunteers here are welcome for a minimum of 2 weeks.

A number of healthcare facilities need ongoing support through volunteer involvement, and this project provides the opportunity for participants to help in a hospital / clinic environment. Working alongside with doctors, nurses, social workers and home-based carers, volunteers can be called to help with:

  • Observations and assistance in the hospital
  • Administrative tasks
  • Data capture
  • Educating patients
  • Supporting pregnant mothers and their children

Professional medical and nursing staff will need to be registered with the South African government regulatory bodies in order to perform invasive procedures and tasks. Specific tasks within the program may vary and volunteers may have to work on new or updated versions of the above tasks. A degree of flexibility is necessary to adapt to changing local needs.
